dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT:This study aimed to characterize the zooplankton community in Paracas Bay and its adjacent areas through five surveys conducted between 2013 and 2015. A total of 68 zooplankton samples were collected using a Baby Bongo net, employing oblique hauls from 2 m in depth to the surface. The highest biovolumes were observed within the bay, ranging from 6.5 mL/100 m³ to 448.6 mL/100 m³, with a mean of 1077 mL/100 m³ and a median of 1058 mL/100 m³. Similarly, the highest abundances were recorded within the bay, varying from 8,009 ind./100 m³ to 4,746,504 ind./100 m³, with an average of 1,906,848 ind./100 m³ and a median of 1,641,490 ind./100 m³. Among the zooplankton groups, copepods exhibited the highest frequency and abundance, with Acartia sp. identified as the dominant species. | - |
