| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: From 11 to 24 July 2019, we studied the benthic macroinvertebrate (BMI) community of the littoral zones of Lake Titicaca; therefore, BMIs were collected using a van-Veen dredge at 22 sampling stations and five exploratory sampling stations. A total of 71 samples were evaluated and 8,752 BMIs were identified corresponding to 11 classes, 11 orders, and 12 families, while 31 taxa were identified between genus/morphotype. The families Hyalellidae, Hydrobiidae, Planorbidae, and Ancylidae were the most abundant in the sampled stations. The following species were also reported: Hyalella armata, H. lucifugax, H. longipes, H. echina, and H. gauthieri of the family Hyalellidae. We finally related the abundance of BMI with the physicochemical variables of the sampling stations, determining the parameters and taxa that differentiate Titicaca’s deep Lago Mayor main basin from its shallow Lago Menor sub-basin. | - |
