Ciclo de vida y curva de crecimiento de la cepa Simocephalus mixtus imarpe sp. nov. (IMP-BG Z021) (Cladocera: Daphniidae) en condición ex situ

Abstract

Se empezó un monocultivo a partir de una hembra partenogenética de la cepa Simocephalus mixtus imarpe sp. nov. IMP-BG-Z021 de la laguna Jitarayoc o Guitarra Yoc en la Región Ayacucho sobre 4600 msnm. Se evaluó el crecimiento diario de una muestra (n= 60) nacidos en un intervalo de 8 horas, el fitness fue alterado al medir los mismos individuos a lo largo de su vida, observándose un comportamiento resistente a la manipulación. Los individuos fueron criados en un beaker de medio litro dentro de una cámara climática a 16 °C, fotoperiodo 14:12 O: L, salinidad 0‰ y fueron alimentados con la microalga Chlorella sp. Se registraron los parámetros longevidad (75 días), progenie (20,4 crías/hembra en promedio), etapa pre reproductiva (8 días), reproductiva y post reproductiva casi ausente. Además, se consideraron los parámetros biométricos longitud y ancho durante el desarrollo de las crías (708,99 μm) hasta su adultez (2063,39 μm) y eclosión de huevos de resistencia o efipio al aumentar 8 °C de la temperatura en la que se desarrolló. La tasa de crecimiento individual fue k= 13,69 y su longitud máxima fue 2750 μm. Se propone la relación de procesos de especiación con las características geológicas del hábitat, así como la conservación de esta cepa como organismos andinos aptos para experimentación y alimento vivo nativo debido a su rusticidad al manejo y adaptación a temperaturas templadas.

ABSTRACT: We started a monoculture from an isolated parthenogenetic female of the strain Simocephalus mixtus imarpe sp. nov. IMP-BG-Z021. The sample was collected from the Jitarayoc o Guitarra Yoc lagoon in the Ayacucho Region, over 4600 masl. The daily growth of this strain (n = 60), born in 8 hours, was evaluated, although the fitness was altered by measuring the same individuals until their death, and a behavior resistant to manipulation was observed. The individuals were reared in a half-liter beaker in a climatic chamber at 16 °C, photoperiod 14:12 D: L, salinity was 0‰, and were fed with the microalga Chlorella sp. The following parameters were recorded: longevity (75 days), progeny (20.4 offsprings/female on average), pre-reproductive stage (8 days), reproductive and post-reproductive stages almost absent. Additionally, we considered the length and width during offspring development (708.99 μm) until adulthood (2063.39 μm), and the hatching of resistance eggs or ephippium at an increase of 8 °C of the temperature at which it developed. The individual growth rate was k= 13.69 and its maximum length was 2750 μm. We propose the relationship of speciation processes with the geological characteristics of the habitat, as well as the conservation of this strain as Andean organisms suitable for experimentation and native live food due to their hardiness to handling and adaptation to temperate temperatures.
