T: Mazorca, Huampanú, and Punta Salinas islands are protected areas that belong to the Guano Islands, Islets, and Capes National Reserve System (RNSIIPG in Spanish). Our work was coordinated between the National Service of Natural Protected Areas (SERNAMP - GEFT Guaneras) and the Imarpe’s Coastal Laboratory of Huacho and included the collection of geographic, oceanographic, and bathylithological information from 11°23’0.42”S, 77°44’34.22”W to 11°16’55.8”S, 77°39’7.9”W, where the benthic communities were recorded. We evidenced an equilibrium between the species distribution and densities, with dominances as in the chocolate rock shell. The distribution of commercially important resources associated with hard and intermediate bottoms such as Thaisella chocolata, Fissurella spp., Concholepas concholepas; Cancer setosus, Patallus mollis, and soft substrates, such as Ensis macha and Platyxanthus orbignyi was determined. We also found insignificant population densities for Cancer porteri, Sinum cymba, and Argopecten purpuratus. Through the use of the PRIMER software, we obtained different biodiversity indexes and delimited the natural banks of the main benthic resources in each area, such as the chocolate rock shell, false abalone, and sea cucumber. Depth charts were obtained from bathymetric information of the seabed and type of substrate, then they were georeferenced with satellite images obtained through the Google Earth software. We detected bottom reliefs with steep and very steep slopes, except off Punta Salinas where the 20 m isobath was found between 440 and 700 m offshore. Oceanographic parameters and marine current flows were determined and we found northeasterly currents, except on the southern flank of the islands, where they are directed to the SSW due to the effect of winds and the impact of waves on their flanks. We encourage the application of multispecies management plans to contribute to the recovery and sustainability of the existing aquatic resource populations in the study area.-
