Invertebrados bentónicos y peces en bancos naturales entre Ensenada y delta del río Chancay (Provincia Huaral - Región Lima)

Abstract

El área entre Ensenada y la boca del río Chancay, provincia de Huaral, Región Lima, presenta playas expuestas de sustrato arenoso, franja de bajeríos rocosos y acantilados. Desde la franja litoral hasta 1400 m, la zona tiene una planicie que alcanza 20 m de profundidad, predominando bajos y zonas rocosas al norte hasta el veril de 15 m y hacia el sur, en la franja costera, predomina arena y canto rodado. Fuera de 15 m se ubican zonas de arena y fango. Se registró 57 unidades taxonómicas, asociados a sustratos duros y blandos; la fauna estuvo constituida por seis grupos taxonómicos. Sobresalieron: cangrejo violáceo (20,8%), caracol negro (17,8%) y cangrejo peludo (12,7%). El caracol negro se encontró en concentraciones frente a Cabezo Grande y Sirena con densidad máxima de 81 ind/5’ de buceo, talla media: 48,17 mm LP. La densidad máxima del cangrejo violáceo fue 46 ind/5’ de buceo, el cangrejo peludo fue 15 ind/5’ de buceo. La salinidad superficial y de fondo fluctuó entre 34,860 y 35,045 ups. Las altas concentraciones de nutrientes, se encontraron dentro de los rangos promedios para la costa peruana. Entre 2010 – 2012, las capturas fueron: peces (79,6%), invertebrados marinos (18,6%), destacando pejerrey Odontesthes regia regia (137,8 t) lorna Sciaena deliciosa (135,6 t), cangrejo violáceo Platyxanthus orbignyi (79,1 t), lisa Mugil cephalus (32,2 t), anchoveta Engraulis ringens (28,6 t), mismis Menticirrhus ophicephalus (25,9 t) y cangrejo peludo Cancer setosus (13,6 t).

ABSTRACT: Morphologically, the area located between Ensenada and the mouth of the Chancay river (Huaral, Lima Region) is characterized by exposed beaches of a sandy substrate, a strip of rocky shoals, and cliffs. From the coastal strip up to 1400 m, the area has a plain that reaches a depth of 20 m, predominantly shallow and rocky areas to the north up to the 15 m edge and sand and boulders predominated to the south, on the coastal strip. Sandy and muddy areas are found beyond 15 meters. We recorded 57 taxonomic units clustered in six taxonomic groups, associated with hard and soft substrates, and the following species stood out: Platyxanthus orbignyi (20.8%), Thaisella chocolata (17.8%), and Cancer setosus (12.7%). The chocolate rock shell was found in concentrations off Cabezo Grande and Sirena with a maximum density of 81 ind/5’ diving, its mean size was 48.17 mm PL. The maximum density of the purple stone crab was 46 ind/5’ diving while that of the furry crab was 15 ind/5’ diving. Surface and bottom salinity ranged from 34.860 to 35.045 PSU. High nutrient concentrations were found to be within average ranges for the Peruvian coast. Between 2010 and 2012, the catches were: fish (79.6%), marine invertebrates (18.6%), especially the Peruvian silverfish Odontesthes regia regia (137.8 t), lorna drum Sciaena deliciosa (135.6 t), purple stone crab Platyxanthus orbignyi (79.1 t), flathead mullet Mugil cephalus (32.2 t), anchoveta Engraulis ringens (28.6 t), snakehead kingcroaker Menticirrhus ophicephalus (25.9 t), and crab Cancer setosus (13.6 t).
