Evaluación poblacional de macha Mesodesma donacium (Lamarck, 1818) entre Punta Corio y Mollendo, Islay - Arequipa. Noviembre 2017

Abstract

La evaluación se realizó del 15 al 21 de noviembre 2017, el área comprendió de Punta Corio a Mollendo en la provincia de Islay; con ausencia en la parte central en Boquerón. Mayor concentración se observó en los sectores 1, 2 y 4; y mayor densidad se encontró en Cardones (Sector 1), El Dren (Sector 2) e Iberia (Sector 3). La densidad media varió entre 0,33 y 17,67 ejem/m2 . El área de distribución se calculó en 1´543.990 m2 , se estimó la abundancia en 6´998.990 ejemplares y biomasa de 106,57 t. Se analizó biométricamente 589 individuos, la talla varió entre 5 y 87 mm de longitud valvar (LV), moda principal en 52 mm y secundaria en 11 mm, la longitud promedio fue 46,48 mm, el 91% estuvo debajo de la Talla Mínima de Captura (TCM = 70 mm). Los perfiles medios de playa fueron de pendiente suave que varió entre 1,01° y 2,59°; en el Sector sur (Punta de Bombón) se observó playas disipativas (Ω entre 6,72 y 8,45), en el Sector norte (Deán Valdivia - Mejía) playas disipativas (Ω entre 7,82 y 7,35) y en la porción de costa de Islay se clasifico como playa disipativa con un valor de Ω 7,64. La temperatura superficial del mar varió entre 15,2 y 18,6 °C, promedio 16,7 °C. En el plancton se observó larvas D y umbonadas con características similares a Mesodesma donacium.

ABSTRACT: - We conducted the assessment from 15 to 21 November 2017. The area covered from Punta Corio to Mollendo in the province of Islay, with an absence in Boquerón (central part). A higher concentration was observed in sectors 1, 2, and 4 and we found higher densities in Cardones (Sector 1), El Dren (Sector 2), and Iberia (Sector 3). The mean density ranged from 0.33 to 17.67 spec./m2 . The range was calculated at 1’543,990 m2 , abundance was estimated at 6’998,990 specimens, and biomass of 106.57 t. Biometrically, a total of 589 were analyzed, the size varied between 5 and 87 mm VL, the main mode was 52 mm and the secondary one was 11 mm, the mean length was 46.48 mm. A total of 91% was below the Minimum Catch Size (MCS = 70 mm). The mean beach profiles had a gentle slope that varied between 1.01° and 2.59°. We observed dissipative beaches in the southern sector (Punta de Bombón) (Ω between 6.72 and 8.45), dissipative beaches in the northern sector (Deán Valdivia - Mejía) (Ω between 7.82 and 7.35), and the Islay coastal portion was classified as a dissipative beach with a value of Ω 7.64. Sea surface temperature oscillated between 15.2 and 18.6 °C, with a mean of 16.7 °C. D and umbonate larvae with characteristics similar to Mesodesma donacium were observed in the plankton.
