ABSTRAC: In 2019, we carried out two hydroacoustic cruises, one in the summer (Cr. 1902-03) between February 12 and March 27 and the other one in the spring (Cr. 1909-11) between September 29 and November 15. These cruises were conducted by IMARPE vessels and those of the National Fishing Society to increase biological and acoustic sampling. We analyzed the results of both cruises to know the distribution and biomass of the pelagic species such as anchoveta, munida lobster, samasa, catfish and oceanic species such as jack mackerel, chub mackerel, jumbo flying squid, and vinciguerria lightfish in the Peruvian marine ecosystem. We interpolated data by kriging and the biomass by stratification in isoparalittoral areas to obtain the distribution. Anchoveta and munida lobster were more abundant in the coastal area while jumbo flying squid and vinciguerria lightfish were more abundant in the oceanic zone. The anchoveta was recorded near the coast up to 72 nm with biomass of 8.82 million tons in summer and offshore up to 115 nm with biomass of 8.38 million tons in spring. The munida lobster was distributed between Chimbote-Sama in summer and between Bayovar-Sama in spring. Jack mackerel and chub mackerel had higher biomass and presence in spring (797,262 and 791,459 tons, respectively). The jumbo flying squid and vinciguerria lightfish had similar characteristics, with larger distribution areas and biomass (759,274 and 1,270,707 tons, respectively). Oceanographic conditions were normal or neutral for almost the whole year. In conclusion, the anchoveta biomass continued to be abundant when compared to other pelagic species, both neritic and oceanic, and the presence of juveniles in 2019 determined that we should be cautious in its management.
