| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The quality of the coastal marine environment of Pacasmayo, Malabrigo, Huanchaco-Salaverry, and Puerto Morín, including the mouths of the Jequetepeque, Moche, and Virú Rivers was monitored in June 2016. The monitoring was carried out under neutral oceanographic conditions. Cold Coastal Waters (CCW) prevailed with remnants of Surface Subtropical Waters (SSW), as well as waters of continental origin in the intertidal zone. The quality of the coastal marine environment in decreasing order was Pacasmayo, Malabrigo, and Huanchaco-Salaverry. The content of the ecotoxic metals which were found in the marine surface sediments in decreasing order were zinc > lead > cadmium > mercury. The averages were 100.64, 20.83, 1.92 and 0.09 mg/kg, respectively. With the exception of mercury, the three zones showed an increase, between 12 and 25% when compared to December 2015. In Huanchaco-Salaverry the concentrations of the four ecotoxic metals, according to the ISQG and PEL categories of the Canada Environmental Quality Guidelines, indicated occasional adverse biological effects. | - |
